Shantavia and Bruce Together Again (Photostory)

After Jason picked Jada up, Shantavia called Bruce and invited him over.  It had been a couple of weeks since they had seen each other and she was anxious to spend some time with him.

After taking a tour of the new place, Shantavia and Bruce ended up in her bedroom....relaxing.

"I've missed you.  Seems like you have been avoiding me."  (Bruce)

Shantavia averts her eyes from Bruce's.  In a way, she had been avoiding Bruce.  She really likes him.  Maybe a little too much.  The thought of getting hurt again caused her to retreat a little bit.

"Hello?  Earth to Shantavia." (Bruce)
"I'm here."  (Shantavia)

"I guess I have been pulling away a little.  I'm sorry.  Things were getting so serious and I just didn't want to get hurt."  (Shantavia)

"Look at me.  I have no intentions of hurting you."  (Bruce)

 Meanwhile....
Lynn and the girls have dropped Jason off at the shop.  He wasn't scheduled to work today, but Kevin called saying he really needed a haircut.  Jason tried to get him to wait, but Kevin insisted.

Jason is getting his tools ready.

"Heyyy Jason."  (Kevin)

"Hey Kev.  Come on in and take a seat."  (Jason)

"Thanks for letting me come by today."  (Kevin)
"No problem."  (Jason)

"So you doing alright, man?"  (Jason)
"I'm alright.  I just got a lot on my mind."  (Kevin)

"Actually, I was hoping to talk to you about it."  (Kevin)
"Go ahead.  Shoot.  What's going on?"  (Jason)

"I'm thinking about taking the plunge."  (Kevin)
"The plunge?"  (Jason)
"Yeah, you know....getting married."  (Kevin)
"Really?  Are you sure you're ready for that?"  (Jason)
"I don't know.  That's why I wanted to run it by you."  (Kevin)

"So you down for having a little fun, today?"  (Shantavia)
"Wasn't that what we were doing, already?"  (Bruce)

"Not that kind of fun.  It's such a nice day outside, I wanted us to get out and enjoy it."  (Shantavia)
"I'm down.  What do you have in mind?" (Bruce)

Soooo, Kevin is thinking about popping the question.  In case you forgot, he is Grace's boyfriend, and father of her daughter.  I sure hope Kevin knows a good Justice of the Peace.  I'm not doing any more weddings!  Oh goodness.  The Langfords would want their daughter to have a big wedding.  Especially since none of their daughters are married.  Hopefully Jason will tell him that marriage is overrated.  LOL.  Sorry.  I know it would be great for Grace and her daughter.  So don't pay me any mind.

Back From Vacation (Photostory)

Rod, Danielle and the kids arrived back in Morristown yesterday.  Rod has left to take Nicole home.  As you can see, their home has been slightly redesigned since the move to the basement.

Danielle is having some breakfast and catching up with the girls.

She's having one of my faves, cottage cheese and pineapples.  She did way too much eating on vacation, and plans to cut back for the next few weeks.

Jacob is playing with the new tricycle he got for Christmas.  His little legs are too short to reach the pedals, yet.

Julian is playing with the Buzz Lightyear toy he got at DisneyWorld.

"Girl, we had a ball, but I'm glad to be back.  (pause)  Yes, my mom is doing good.  She's anxious to come visit again.  (long pause)  Well, we thought we would all get together around noon.  That will give me time to get myself together.

"Mommy, I want some juice.'  (Jacob)
"One second, Jacob."  (Danielle)

"Mommy, can we go outside and let Buzz fly?"  (Julian)

"Julian, you need to say excuse me when you see me talking on the phone."  (Danielle)

"Girl, let me get off this phone.  I'm being summoned by the little ones.  I'll see you in a couple hours."  (Danielle)

"What's this, mommy?"  (Julian)

"Cottage cheese and pineapples."  (Danielle)
"I don't think I like cottage cheese."  (Julian)
"I don't think you do either." (Danielle)

Meanwhile a couple houses down Antoinette is preparing an apple tart to take to Danielle's.

"Mmmm.  Something smells good."  (Tony)

"You need me to taste it now to make sure it's okay?"  (Tony)

"Sorry honey.  This is for the girls." (Antoinette)
"What girls?  Our girls?"  (Tony)
"No.  Danielle, Leslie, and them."  (Antoinette)
"You didn't make one for the house, too?"  (Tony)
"No, I didn't. You are the one complaining that your pants are getting too tight.  I'm just looking out for you."  (Antoinette)
"Awww.  That's cold."  (Tony)

I've been wanting to make an apple tart for awhile.  I can finally cross it off the list.  It will be in the Etsy store by tomorrow.

I saw this picture in a cake magazine I was reading.

They called it a checkerboard cake.

I gave it a try.  Made a few mistakes, so this one will go to my dolls.  If I get around to doing one for the store, I'm going to call mine the Neopolitan cake.  It reminds me of neopolitan ice cream.  I'm feeling a little hungry now.

Darius Is Getting An Office

It appears that my dios are being determined by whatever little project piece I get done.  The other day it was the display shelf I put in Ni'Chalet's.  Today it was a wooden table/desk I finally glued together.  I had cut the pieces months ago.  It is in it's raw form.  I plan to do a nice finish on it that will enhance the wood.  I started off redoing Tina's psychiatry office, but then decided we finally needed to see Darius' office.  This is a mock up.  I am testing out a few things.  It is going to be fun making accessories for his office.  Below are two different layouts.  I will probably try out more before I pick one.

Layout # 1.  Here I am using one of the brown display tables.  It works perfect in that space.  That display table comes in white and brown and is usually in my Etsy shop.  I placed the golf books I made for Darius on the shelf in the corner.  Hmmm.  Looks like he needs more books.  The cute little wooden office sign is also perfect in his office.  Custom signs are usually available in my shop, too.

This is layout #2.  I took away the stand with the tv and vcr.  I think I prefer the less cluttered look.  I need to add more pictures and accessories to make his office complete.  He may end up with a different desk.  Maybe one a little bigger.  We will see what this one looks like after I put the finish on.  He will definitely get a new chair in the future.  One a lot more masculine.

Start of Ni'Chalet's Remodel (Photostory)

I hadn't planned on a story at Ni'Chalet's today.  It was supposed to be a story at Shantavia's place.  Maybe next time.  Racquel has started the remodel of Ni'Chalet's.  She has a long way to go.  She has an idea of what she wants to do, but she is likely to change her mind at any moment.  Lynn came in for a few hours this morning to help out.  Terrance, her husband, is there to help, as well.

I will be using the LIV window displays here again.

"I appreciate you coming in today.  The quicker we get this done, the quicker we can reopen."  (Racquel)

"No problem.  I wish I could stay longer to help."  (Lynn)
"Don't worry about it.  I know you have other things planned."  (Racquel)

Just then Terrance comes in from the back room.

"Honey, you are going to have to get a plumber in here.  The toilet is not working right."  (Terrence)
"I shouldn't have to get a plumber.  That should be on the landlord.  We just moved in.  I'll call him on Monday."  (Racquel)

"Are you ready for me to throw out all of those boxes?"  Terrance)

"Yes, but honey can you please check to make sure they are completely empty?  I don't want to accidentally throw out any merchandise."  (Racquel)
"Will do."  (Terrance)

"So where were we?"  (Racquel)

"Actually, I probably should go get my things together before Jason comes.  I just can't seem to find the energy to get up."  (Lynn)

Just as she finished her sentence, Jason walks in with the girls.

"Hi honey, you're here."  (Lynn)

"Yes, we are.  Are you almost ready?"  (Jason)
"Yes, I just need to get my purse and shoes from the back."  (Lynn)

"Hello Jason.  Good to see you again."  (Racquel)
"Hello Racquel.  Good to see you , too.  Looks like you guys have been busy."  (Jason)
"We have, but there's still a lot to do."  (Racquel)

"Hello Jada.  How are you today?"  (Lynn)
"I'm good."  (Jada)

"So how was Layla this morning?"  (Lynn)
"A little fussy.  She could use a nap."  (Jason)

"Let me have her."  (Lynn)

"Hey pumpkin.  You giving daddy a hard time?"  (Lynn)

"She was crying in the car."  (Jada)
"Were you crying, Layla?"  (Lynn)

"So are we ready to go get some lunch?"  (Lynn)
"Can we get McDonald's?"  (Jada)
"I'm sure we can find something a little better than McDonald's."  (Lynn)

"Honey, we need to get going.  I need to stop by the shop."  (Jason)
"Why don't I just drop you off at the shop and the girls and I will come pick you up later?"  (Lynn)

"Hello Lay Lay.  You want McDonald's for lunch?"  (Jada)

I'm sure they will sort it all out.  No telling what the boutique will look like when we see it again.  I know there will be hardwood floors throughout, at some point.

I made this little display shelf this morning and I need to make another one to go on the other side.
